Year Six trip to RAF Cottesmore

Year six children from Leighfield Primary School in Uppingham recently visited RAF Cottesmore to find out what happens on a working RAF station.

The trip was organised by Squadron Leader Tamzin Keenlyside, Community Careers Liaison Officer, and included tours of the Fire Section, Harrier Engineering, the RAF Regiment and the RAF Police dogs. The children were also treated to lunch in the Junior Rank’s Mess.

To show their appreciation for this fabulous day, the children made a donation to the Royal Air Force Benevolent fund.  A cheque for £235 was presented to Miss Gemma Mahon, Regional Fund-raiser, during school assembly.
