Rainy conditions did little to reduce the enthusiasm of the families as they headed off for a day in Skegness. And their determination to enjoy themselves was rewarded when the sun came out and shone for the rest of the trip.
The trip was organised for the families of deployed personnel by the RAF Wittering Community Support Team.
Families were left to their own devices to explore the beach and the town, meanwhile Airplay also took a group of eight to 12-year-olds to Skegness to take part in games and activities.
Community Development Officer Mark Davis said: “We were really lucky with the weather. Conditions were appalling when the bus set off for Skegness but by the time it reached Boston, the sun came out and shone for the rest of the day. It only started raining again when everyone got back onto the bus at the end of the day which was just fantastic.
“The feedback we got from the families was superb and we were delighted at the support the trip received making it yet another highly successful event organised by the Wittering Community Support team.”
