RAF Wittering Community Support Jubilee Events

During the half term holidays at the beginning of June, the RAF Community Support Team will be hosting a selection of events for all families at RAF Wittering to join and take part in.

On Tuesday, June 5, there will be a picnic in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on the sports field by the Community Centre. Attractions will include a bouncy castle and games, a face painter and a magician, plus the AIRPLAY Youth Worker who will be running games and activities for children aged 8+.

Hive Information Officer, Sophie West said: “We are pleased to announce that BFBS RADIO will be joining us with their Ice Cream Van at the picnic where you can leave a message for a deployed family member and eat plenty of ice cream. Everyone is welcome to join in and all you need to do is bring a picnic with you.”

The following day (June 6), the Community Support Team will be hosting a Coffee morning in the Real Bean Cafe on camp. Zoo Lab Mega beast sessions will take place in the Stamford Suite for children aged 5 – 15. Deployed families will take priority but there are plenty of spaces for all.

A trip to Skegness will take place on Thursday, June 7. There will be plenty of free time for fun at the seaside. The AIRPLAY youth workers will also be running a trip alongside for children aged 8+ and their families.

This year’s annual Families Day is being held at the Station on June 8. More details will be available in due course.
